This week Fontana City Councilmember Michael Tahan received the endorsements of San Bernardino County Professional Firefighters Association and Fontana Police Officers Association.
“Councilmember Michael Tahan understands what it takes to keep Fontana families safe and he is committed to making sure first responders have the resources needed to do their jobs. Over 450 Firefighters and Paramedics throughout Fontana and San Bernardino County are proud to support his campaign,” said Ken Lewis, President, San Bernardino County Professional Firefighters.
“Councilmember Michael Tahan is a tireless and effective advocate for keeping Fontana neighborhoods safe. The Fontana Police Officers Association supports Michael because his leadership on the City council has had a direct impact on helping us combat and prevent crime,” said Rich Hunt, President, Fontana Police Officers Association.
Prior to his election to the City Council, Michael represented Fontana as a member of the San Bernardino County Board of Education. As our School Board Member, he worked to maintain a balanced budget, keep our kids safe on campus and in the hours after school, and improve academic outcomes for students of all ages.
Michael’s long record of community involvement includes having served as President of the Fontana Chamber of Commerce, and on the boards of the Fontana Boys and Girls Club, the Fontana Library Foundation, the Oldtimers Foundation, and the Inland Empire Development Corporation. He is also a former member of the Fontana Parks and Recreation Commission. Michael volunteers his time as a local youth sports couch and is an active member of the Fontana Rotary Club and the Fontana Kiwanis Club.
Michael holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management from Cal State Fullerton, and has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He and his wife, Rima Tahan, live in the Sierra Lakes neighborhood of Fontana with their three sons.
